Hello, I am Sophie
Project manager. Parent. Expat based in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn't in our long-term plan. As with many expat moves, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far more significant.
The early months were overwhelming— unfamiliar systems, new routines, higher expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complex than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
Culture shock and uncertainty were part of it, along with learning by doing. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built Prism Story Codex
Most information online was either corporate relocation tips or superficial tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.
This site aims to bridge that gap with practical guidance drawn from real life in Netherlands.

This site is:
